Gemintang is an Indonesian based artist that draws inspiration from many cultures of her home country. For instance, her debut single “Pinisi” is drawn from an epic myth in South Sulawesi. Her approach to music despite being categorised as Pop Alternative would be best described as cinematic. The dramatic effect and visual nature of Gemintang’s work draws raw emotions fitting to the epic she is inspired by. In the upcoming months we should expect more work pertaining to this nature, drawing from more of Indonesia’s diverse culture.
