“Vatermord“ is German for patricide. We - a duo from Berlin - explore the literal and metaphorical meanings of the concept in our art, which critically examines hegemonic forms of masculinities. Answering violence with violence is a concept that our culture still embraces, especially for “strong men” who do not want to be perceived as “victims”. This represents the more literal meaning of Vatermord. However, it could also be seen metaphorical as a way of cutting ties with patriarchy.
