Born in the Philippines in 1996, Gio Punongbayan moved to the Bay Area in 2002 where he adapted into the culture. His musically inclined family influenced his sound, whether it was Hip-Hop/ R&b stations playing in the car or his mother singing karaoke at family parties. Gio was eleven years old when his uncle introduced him to his music studio. There, he learned to write lyrics, make beats, and record on a mic.
