Originally the solo project of Florida-born songwriter Katie Callihan, Perish came into full bloom in Brooklyn through mutual connections and a shared love of performance. As part of a Sunday service at a local church, Callihan was introduced to long-time friends Sam Lopane, Austin (Chappie) Chappell, and John Dockery when she was scheduled to play with them as part of the rotating cast of musicians.
