Hiwa Akreyi, born on January 23, 1991, in Iraq-Kurdistan, moved to Denmark at the age of 1. From a young age, Hiwa had a passion for music, especially Kurdish music, and began singing as a child. At 29, Hiwa's father discovered his talent for playing the oud.
