About Rossen Zahariev
Rossen Zahariev is a Bulgarian trumpeter, composer and improviser, interested in the consequences of sound, silence, and their interplay. In the beginning he plays self made drums, then studies piano, and then picks up the trumpet. After his classical training, studies jazz in Rotterdam Conservatory and Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he plays in Rakalam Bob Moses’s group, and on the records “Nishoma” and “Universal Folk Song”, alongside Abbey Lincoln, Steve Kuhn, Jimmy Slide, Scott Robinson, John Medeski, Chris Wood and Jacques Schwarz-Bart.
