Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Nelson moved to Austin to pursue his musical career, spending over 15 years performing, writing, and recording in the vibrant music hub. Nelson’s musical journey began during his college years at the University of Texas, where he performed at local venues like The Back Forty in downtown Austin. After graduation, he moved to Nashville, working as a song plugger for songwriter Liz Rose’s publishing company. However, the call of Texas brought him back to Austin, where he formed bands such as Frontage Road and Crazy Chester before embarking on a solo career....
