Junk Science, a hip-hop duo hailing from Brooklyn, makes music that is often laced with witty, sometimes outrageous humor that acts alongside organic, quirky beats and well-crafted, often sociopolitical lyrics. MC Baje One and producer DJ Snafu grew up together in Brooklyn, and in early 2005, they won car company Scion's NextUp Song Contest with their track "Roads," which earned them a marketing deal that included a fully funded and fly music video directed by Andrew Gura, who had done videos for artists such as Madlib, MF Doom, and Nas.
