About Kelly Dickson
b. 6 September 1972, Ballymena, Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland. From the age of 10 Dickson was raised in Leeds, Yorkshire, and began taking music lessons. From 12 years old she studied voice and while still a young teenager became a studio session singer. With the band Bass Reality she was signed to Polydor Records and it was around this time that she developed an interest in jazz. ‘I felt that singing jazz would be the best way for me to grow musically and started singing with third year students from the jazz degree course at Leeds College of Music.’ For the next three years she worked the ...
