Ann Arbor, MI-based Orpheum Bell describe their music as "country & eastern," referencing a combination of Americana and Eastern European influences. The band was formed after roommates Aaron Klein (vocals, banjo, guitar) and Serge van der Voo (bass, percussion) met singer and multi-instrumentalist Merrill Hodnefield (vocals, violin, saw, autoharp).
