About David Negrete
Born 1984 in Long Beach, California USA. After moving to San Diego he studied under Charles McPherson. He was also mentored by Kamau Kenyatta, who is known for producing Gregory Porter, as well as Gilbert Castellanos who is dedicated to nurturing local jazz musicians. In 2004 he enrolled at Berklee College of Music in Boston on a full scholarship. After graduating he moved to New York to pursue a career in performance. In 2011 he relocated to Japan.
