About Mitch Heard
Mitchel "Mitch" Heard was 5 years old when music was put in his life. The family had an antique turntable in the living room and a small vinyl collection—Nat King Cole, Earth, Wind and Fire and Duke Ellington mainly. Mitch sat by the speaker for hours listening to jazz standards and funk riffs. It became his main source of entertainment. Fast forward two years, and he would get his first instrument—a recorder. A crude wind instrument handed out to elementary-schoolers. Boring as a paint-scraper, he played melodies and learned to read music (something that would come in very handy later)....
