Formed in 2010 by two brothers in the grey, brutalist landscape of Minsk, Restrictions was built on a shared interest in the jagged, melodic tension of early post-punk. Inspired by the work of bands like The Sisters of Mercy and The Cure, the project’s live era (2010–2015) was defined by a twin-guitar attack and a rhythmic shift from live drumming to the mechanical precision of drum machines. A defining moment for the band was their performance at the Deathcave Festival in 2011, then the largest old-school goth event in Eastern Europe.
