About Violet Light
Currently working on a YouTube channel with my brother: https://www.youtube.com/@VioletLightSound I've been creating AI-free ambient tracks for a while. It starts with recording piano chords in Ableton (or ideally a real piano), isolating the reverb tail, and looping it to form a drone. The clip is then slowed down, and a second chord is layered in intermittently. Valhalla Room is my go-to reverb, using a low-modulation setting with EQ to emphasize highs—this prevents excessive bass when slowing the clip. Playing in higher octaves (C5–C6) also helps avoid muddy low-end frequencies.
