The Silvermine Tapes were created by Max Mackinnon, Pete Psaltis and Gerry Rafferty, in Adelaide, South Australia. Early recordings on a dodgy 8-track cassette recorder found their way onto various compilation albums, and the 'Riot Anthems' EP, in the late 1990s. The tape hiss was intentional.
