About Eddie Allen Jr.
Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Eddie began playing bass at the age of 11. Early in his career he played mostly gospel, influenced by the likes of Joel Smith (Walter Hawkins) and Andrew Gouche (Yolanda Adams), as well as jazz/funk bassists Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, Jaco Pastorius, and local contemporary Sergio Croom. After highschool, he toured with various gospel groups in the Atlanta area, most notably Robert Griffin’s Crusaders for Christ, the Atlanta Soul Saviors, and the Jackson Twinz.
