About The Greater Minority
The Greater Minority (or Gmi) is a 6-piece a cappella group based out of Kansas City, KS tinkering with vocal jazz harmony and medley/mashup form arrangements of popular tunes. The group began at Kansas City Kansas Community College in the Spring of 2015 while singing in choir together and realizing they all shared a common interest in starting a smaller a cappella group outside of the school’s vocal jazz ensembles, to continue singing beyond graduation.
