Born and raised in Norfolk, VA Emmyu began her journey as an artist in 2017. Having always been a writer, she made her transition into songwriting from writing poetry. Drawing from the influence of R&B and Neo-Soul greats such as Erykah Badu, Janelle Monae and The Internet and the introspective style of Frank Ocean.
