About Kinky Vanilla
Psychedelic Garage Rock is the answer you’d get if you ask anyone who knows what exactly the Kinky Vanilla sound is. Though, if you were to ask any of the members, their answer might be (with a smirk) Swamp Surf. The band evokes visions of classic sounds from the late 60’s and early 70’s while adding modern day indie, fuzzy, raw textures to express the breadth of their influences. The birth of Kinky Vanilla took place in Baton Rouge, Louisiana through the connection of Robert Nodier (guitar, vocals) and Robert Johannessen (drums).
