TJ Arena, born in Freeport, NY, found his love for hip-hop in the late 1980's when his uncle played Young M.C.’s “Bust a Move.” By age 9, he was writing rhymes and recording songs using two radios - one for beats and one for vocals. Hip-hop was his way of processing life’s challenges and expressing himself. In high school, TJ regularly skipped school to catch the train into NYC, chasing the latest mixtapes and beat tapes.
