About Michael English
b. 23 April 1979, Castledermot, County Kildare, Eire. English’s family was musical, his father playing button accordion with a traditional Irish band, his mother was an Irish dancer, and his two sisters became players of the fiddle and the piano. His father’s band rehearsed in the family home and the boy eventually started playing piano with them. At the age of nine, he began studying formally at the Hennessy School of Music in Carlow.
