About Apple
Apple was formed in 1976 in Portsmouth, Ohio and the original band members included myself (Scott Wittenburg, Bass, Vocals), Jeff Porter (Drums, Vocals) and Alan Huff (Guitar). Alan was later replaced by Jack Vetter after Alan moved to Houston. We played Beatles covers exclusively, which pretty much set us apart from the other local bands and in 1977 we won Portsmouth’s annual Battle of The Bands. Near the end of our time together, we recorded the tracks for our single in 1978 on my 4-Track reel-to-reel tape and released our 45 rpm record, Holes in the Ceiling b/w Going Back. Prior to the 2...
