About Jacky Cheung
One of Asia's greatest and best-known pop stars during the 1980s, Jacky Cheung grew up in Hong Kong, inspired by Barry Manilow while singing in various bands with school friends. In 1984, he entered an amateur singing contest and beat out thousands of contestants to take first prize. A contract with Polygram followed, and Cheung became quite a big star in the next three years.
