About Jacksun.
When I was 15 years-old I began writing hip-hop music in the basement of my Minnesota home. The original songs were mostly "joke raps" about friends, but when I quit basketball later that year and opened up some more free time, I started to take the craft a bit more seriously. I began under the pen name "J-Yak" and wrote and recorded 9 different mixtapes between 2010 and 2014. In the summer of 2014, I wrote the last of my albums under that name, with a project called "Valleys." Then launched Jacksun.
