About Antumbra
Antumbra is a black metal project started by Marius Ignatescu in 2021 and based in Sibiu, Romania. The antumbra (from Latin ante, “before”) is the region from which the occluding body appears entirely within the disc of the light source. Black metal has traditionally kept itself rooted in dark and cold things and this is why Antumbra is drawn to outer space. Space is a symbolic reflection of the black metal and Antumbra project was conceived to create compelling atmospheres capable of taking the listener to unknown places.
