Simon Abou Assali is a Syrian multi-instrumentalist musician born in 1981 to a musical family in Damascus. he started playing the drums when he was five years old, then learned the guitar and the piano before becoming the keyboardist of Syrian rock band “Deep Rock” at age thirteen. Simon turned to songwriting to express his desire for liberation and growth in an increasingly authoritarian country.
