Blaq NRG real name Balogun Faruq was born in a home of music enthusiast. Growing up in Lagos island, Music was a big part of his upbringing and it was his way of escaping the world around him without leaving home. He picked up the pen at about age 12 and he started writing poems and poetry as a mental therapy to heal himself from the negativity around him and also as a form of expressing his insecurities and things he wouldn't normally say.
