Cheakaity: Artist.Producer.Writer. DMV native Cheakaity (Cha-Keh-taye) is an alchemist : blending soul, groove, funk, and swagger into his own unique flavor. Born into his father’s church, Cheakaity discovered his love for music at a very young age after hearing West African gospel music played by the worship team. He began playing the drums by the age of 4, singing by age 8, playing keyboard by age 12, and producing beats at age 16.
