About Sacred Cowboys
Sacred Cowboys formed in early 1982 in Melbourne with Garry Gray on lead vocals (ex-Negatives), Terry Doolan on guitar, Janis Friedenfelds (aka Johnny Crash) on drums and Mark Ferrie on guitar (ex-Models), Ian Forrest on keyboards and Andrew Picouleau, Nick Rischbieth on bass. Fidock was on drums. Gray and Ferrie, inspired by an episode of the United States TV comedy series Get Smart, in which the Groovy Guru and his rock band, the Sacred Cows, use psychedelic music to control the minds of America's youth, named their band the Sacred Cowboys.
