About Clive Hawkes
Born in the East End of London….it was a very humble beginning. At the age of seven I joined the church choir and this was my first introduction to music - that, and “discovering” my grandparents old out of tune piano. At about 18 I formed a pop group with some friends and which toured the pubs and working mens clubs around the East End. By this time I had limited keyboard skills but the group only did cover versions which was not what I wanted to do. I left school at 16 and with some money I started buying Burt Bacharach albums.
