Jersey City native and son of Moroccan and Filipino parents, YP started writing at the age of 13 as a way to communicate and understand his place in the world. A lyricist heavily inspired by his unique upbringing and the Golden Era of hip-hop, YP understood the power of culture and the arts at a young age.
